  2. v     Member meetings will be Wednesday, March 19, and Wednesday April 16, at 12:00 noon.  Everyone is welcome to attend. 
  3. v     Upcoming Shows:  March 17-28 – Woodworkers; April 1-14 – Photography; April 16-30 – Quilts and possibly artwork from the High School and Middle School students.  You do not have to be a member of the league to participate in these shows.  Please call or come by for more information.
  4. v     Congratulations to CCAL artist Pat Schermerhorn!  She has been invited to participate in the prestigious annual Grand National Art Show and Sale in San Francisco, California.  Over 100 artists from around the world will be represented.  Artists participate in this show on an “Invitation Only” basis.
  5. v     The Casper Artists’ Guild Newsletter featured CCAL artist Joanne Odasz in the “Getting to Know Our Members” section of their February newsletter.
  6. v     Please join Diane Greenwood for the 27th Annual Western Heritage Art Show at the Holiday Inn, Great Falls, Montana, March 12-16.  For more information go to www.dianegreenwoodartist.com.
  7. v     CCAL member Rudy DeRam was recently picked as the Grand Prize winner in the Cowboys and Indians magazine 2008 Photographing the West photo contest.  His horse photo was selected as one of the two grand prize winners for this years special issue.  For more photos from Rudy go to his website at www.deramphotography.com/home.
  8. v     The Cody Camera Club will have their March meeting on Wednesday, March 5, from 7:00 until approximately 8:30 p.m. in the Emergency Op Room in the basement of Park Country Courthouse in Cody.  The program will be a round table discussion on Sensor Cleaning.
  9. v     Send us a short description of the event and contact information if you get an award and we will place it in our newsletter.

Ukrainian Easter

Egg Workshop

CCAL will be hosting a workshop led by Lisa McDonald on Wednesday, March 12, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the classroom behind the League.  Lisa has over 30 years of experience making Ukrainian Easter Eggs – called Pysanky – and she will explain about traditions and show you how to make your own beautiful Easter Egg that can last centuries.  Call to register, enjoy the class and after three hours you will leave with a work of art that you created.  During and after the class you can purchase supplies to make your own Ukrainian Easter Eggs at home or browse the collection of Psanky and Ukrainian Easter gifts.  Cost will be $25.00 and the registration deadline is Friday, March 7.  For more information call Lisa at (307) 587-933 or the League.

Heart of the West Invitational Art Show and Sale is an annual west art show, sale and competition that selects 40 of the best western artists from throughout the country to participate in the juried exhibition.  Application deadline is April 1, 2008.  For more information call Heart of the West at (307) 332-3892 or email them at director@landerchamber.org.  You may also pick up an application at CCAL.

 

The Riverton National Art Show and Sale will be accepting applications until May 15 for their 8th Annual Show.  For more information call (307) 856-7574 or come by CCAL and pick up an application.
